Dr. Smrecek
Dr. Smrecek received his Dental degree from Georgetown University School of Dentistry in 1977. After serving in the Navy Dental Corps from 1977 to 1980, he opened his private Orange County dentistry practice. Since 1999, Dr. Smrecek has been practicing in Newport Beach where he continues to help Orange County residents enhance their smiles.
Dr. Smrecek attends over 100 hours of continuing education in the latest dental technologies each year. This commitment to excellence has earned him a Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, an honor that only 1% of the Dentists in the United States achieve, making him one of the top dentists in Orange County. With over 500 hours of advanced study on Orthodontics/ Orthopedics. Dr. Smrecek offers uncommon expertise in tooth arrangement, jaw alignment, and facial balance. He has also completed over 350 hours of post doctoral training in restorative and reconstructive techniques at the L.D. Pankey Institute for Advance Dental education and another 150 hours at the Misch International Institute.
Presently, Dr. Smrecek maintains a state of the art dental practice in the Newport Center Medical Plaza, emphasizing preventive therapy to maintain health smiles and the latest cosmetic and restorative techniques to rehabilitate deteriorated smiles and restore optimal health, function and beauty. As a Newport Beach cosmetic dentist, Dr. Smrecek also treats patients from Costa Mesa, Laguna Beach, Corona Del Mar, Huntington Beach, and all over Orange County.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association. The Orange County Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Newport Harbor Academy of Dentistry. The International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry

Valeria Benavente RDA
New Patient Facilitator/ Treatment Coordinator
Val joined the team in 1995; she has over 32 years of dental experience. She graduated from a dental assisting program in San Jose, California in 1977 and received her Registered Dental Assistant license in 1981. She is a competent clinical assistant in all dental procedures. Her experience enables her to be very effective in helping patients understand their treatment plan and set priorities for accomplishing that treatment. Her familiarity with office policies and procedures is especially beneficial for new patients who appreciate have a facilitator to answer questions and help them feel comfortable in the office.

Martha Ultreras RDA
Chairside Assistant
As Dr. Smrecek’s chairside assistant, since 2001, Martha brings with her over 14 years of clinical expertise and proficient in both English and Spanish. Our patients take great comfort in her caring and attentive nature. Martha, licensing as a Registered Dental Assistant allow her the responsibility of taking x-rays, impressions for various appliances and fabrication temporary crowns and all back office organization.

Terri Kerr RDH
Hygienist/ Periodontal Therapist
Terri joined the team in 1988 after graduating from Pasadena City College Dental Hygiene School in 1980. In addition to hygiene, she instructs patients on the causes and treatment of periodontal disease, spending time required to educate patients on appropriate home care. She provides periodontal therapy as needed, being sure patients in her care are comfortable through local anesthetic and/ or Nitrous Oxide analgesia. Her dedication has helped our patients maintain optimal dental health and appearance for their lifetime.

Kim Delaney RDH
Hygienist/ Periodontal Therapist
Kim has worked with Dr. Smrecek since 1984 and has the distinction of having the longest employment history with the practice. She graduated from the Cerritos/ UCLA dental hygiene program in 1982 and is licensed as a Registered Dental Hygienist. In addition to helping her patients keep their teeth looking their best, she has done a remarkable job in helping them maintain their periodontal health without the need to visit a periodontist. As an RDH. She is licensed to administer local anesthesia and Nitrous Oxide analgesia and uses both as needed to insure her patients comfort.

Stacy Giorghetti RDH
Hygienist/ Periodontal Therapist
Stacy, our most recent addition, has been with Dr. Smrecek since 2007. Her career in dentistry drove her back to school to attend Cypress Dental Hygiene School, graduating in 1996. Stacy is excited about her career, helping our patients maintain the very best dental and periodontal health. She is careful to explain the importance of effective home care a well as in office maintenance. She may provide local anesthetic and/or Nitrous Oxide as needed to insure comfort.
