Bonding

While not as durable as porcelain restorations, direct bonded resin can look beautiful and maintain that great look for 5 to 10 years before the surface texture and color begin to deteriorate.
In general, the term “bonding” in dentistry refers to the ability to “adhere” to the tooth.
Adhesion dentistry has come a long way in the last twenty years. Today, with the ability to adhere to enamel, your dentist in Newport Beach is able to roughen a little of the enamel closest to a missing corner and build the tooth to its original size and shape with a “bonded” resin material. Usually there would not be a need to anesthetize the tooth for this procedure.
This same procedure is used for direct fillings replacing old silver fillings and broken areas of the tooth
